Rescue in Nagpur!
On Tuesday September 11th, the Freedom Firm investigation team located one minor in the red light area of Nagpur who was being offered for sex. The investigations team immediately approached the police, but was told to come back the following day.
On Wednesday September 12th, the police partnered with the interventions team to conduct a rescue operation at around 5pm. The target minor was immediately found, but the police and the team searched the rest of the brothel. One other minor was found hidden in a case in the next room. In total, 3 minors and 1 major were rescued.
Each of the girls was placed in a government shelter home, and First Information Reports (FIRs) were filed. After three months where police cooperation was lacking in Nagpur, this is truly an important step in the journey of bringing down the system of sex trafficking, and empowering victims to walk the road of restoration.

Groundbreaking Rescue
Last night, there was a successful raid in Nashik (a city near Pune and Mumbai) that rescued three very young girls, and one borderline major from commercial sexual exploitation. One brothel keeper was also arrested.
It is our hope that this raid is the first among many rescue operations in this new region.
Please pray that the girls rescued would remain protected and begin their path of healing. Also, continue to pray for the safety of the investigations team as there will most likely be backlash from criminal networks.
