Why India

Globally, there are an estimated 2,000,000 children in forced prostitution.  Human Trafficking is now the third largest international crime.

Trafficking in human persons is a $32 Billion a year industry.  Because of poverty and other social factors, forced prostitution of minors is a widespread issue affecting every country in the world.

In India; an estimated 500,000 minor girls, or 25% of the global number, have been forced into the commercial sex trade.

The U.S. State department calls India the, “source, destination and transit” country for a majority trafficking in Asia.  Thus, India is the central country in the fight to end sex trafficking.

Some girls are tricked by false promises of a good job or marriage

Girls are often deceived by false promises of a good job or marriage, they may be sold by a relative or family member into a brothel. They are held as slaves and are forced to have sex with many clients each day.

Their spirits are broken and they have no hope for their futures

Trafficked girls often have no vocational training or life skills. They are often shunned by their families and their communities.  This is why Freedom Firm is dedicated to eradicating sex trafficking and child prostitution in India.
