On 20th March 2025 while our team was investigating Joara, MP, we got intel that a 13 old child was being sexually exploited in one of the villages.
On 24th March after we gathered sufficient evidence we met the Assistant Superintendent of Police from Jaora. After examining all the evidence, he agreed to send a team to initiate a raid and assigned a police team for the same.
On 25th March , the intervention team and the police discussed rescue strategies. Once a rescue strategy was finalized, the police and our team proceeded to the location. At 4:58 pm both teams moved swiftly and the brothel was raided. Sarita was rescued right away. The female brothel keeper managed to escape during the raid.
After the police completed post rescue procedures, Sarita was taken to Dhodhar Police Station to record her statement. The police filed an FIR under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act (ITPA) Sections 3, 4, 5, and 6, along with IPC 370, POCSO Sections 3/17, and BNSS. We accompanied Sarita for her medical examination. The Child Welfare Committee ordered Sarita to be placed in a shelter home.
