On 14th July 2026, the police and our team raided a hotel that was functioning as a brothel in Barrackpore, Kolkata. Two victims were rescued; a 14 year old child and an adult female.
The 14 year old child was rescued earlier by another organization and placed in a shelter home. Shortly after her rescue, the Child Welfare Committee released her from the shelter home back to her family. Since she is back into prostitution, it is safe to state that her home is unsafe and her family members are responsible for trafficking and re-trafficking her.
Hoping the CWC will ensure she stays safe in a shelter home this time.
