In October 2025, we received intel about a minor victim being trafficked to Agra, Uttar Pradesh. For over two months, we were unable to locate the victim. In November, we received intel that a spa in Agra was sexually exploiting minor victims. Our team left for Agra to verify the lead.
The spa was located in the center of a busy street surrounded by small shops. After verifying the location, the team met with the Additional Commissioner Police, to get us to initiate a raid. The Additional Commissioner Police connected us with another officer.
18 December 2025 (Wednesday)
The Police officer assigned the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, to lead the rescue operation and instructed the team to assemble at the police station. We faced few issues on the field and so the rescue operation had to be pushed later in the day.
On 18th December at 5:00 pm the police and our team raided the spa. The spa staff had switched off the lights. Once the lights were turned on by the police, we found men and women hiding in different locations within the spa. There were two large rooms near the reception area. The other room was divided into seven smaller rooms using plywood partitions. After doing a quick search we found the minor victim. The police rescued the minor victim and the four women.
The police arrested one woman and four men from the spa. The victims and accused were taken to a police station in Agra. Our social worker provided support to the victims and prepared them for their statements. The First Information Report was filed at 6:30 pm after a lot of back and forth between our team and the police team. The victims were presented at a court in Agra and their statements were recorded. Their medical tests were completed on the 19th December. The child is shifted to a shelter home and the adults have gone back to their respective homes.
