Sohail feeling pity on Reenu gave her Rs 2,000 which she used to travel to Mumbai with her sons. She left her husband back in Surat.
A few months later Reenu got a call from Aman. He was diagnosed with Typhoid and needed her to come back to Surat and look after him. Once again Reenu thought Aman changed and went to him hoping they could be a family.

She nursed Aman back to health. When he got better, he started physically abusing her. He contacted a pimp friend who pimped his wife out. Needing more money, Aman finally sold his wife Reenu to a man in Ahmedabad for Rs 3,00,000 and fled back to Bangladesh. Reenu was told by her new owner that she had to pay him his investment back. From soliciting on street corners, Reenu would now take on customers in hotels.
When Reenu and some other girls were in a hotel with customers, there was a police raid. While everyone was screaming and running about, one of the girls whispered in Reenu’s ears, “Run. This may be the only chance you get to escape.”
Reenu ran. She desperately looked for someone who would help her. She was connected to a Bangladeshi woman named Ritika. Ritika helped women in distress and found a place for Reenu and her two sons to live in. Reenu cleaned and cooked for the women in exchange for her accommodation.
Social workers Bharti and Sheena left Reenu with a heavy heart. After discussing with the team, the team decided to present Reenu’s case before the Commissioner of Police, CP, Ahmedabad. Reenu was determined to see every person who exploited her caught and punished and for her and her children placed in a protective home. The CP after hearing Reenu directed us to the Crime Branch.
Reenu was interagated by the Crime Branch for three days after which she was moved to a detention centre in Ahmedabad along with her children. Our legal team has gotten into action and are working on getting this mother and her two sons transferred to a protective home and then repatriated back to Bangladesh. What she has endured is unimaginable and heartbreaking and instead of getting justice after sharing her story with the police has received punishment.
