Our  team received intel on 9th December 2025 that two minors were being sexually exploited in one of the  deras in Ratlam. When we visited the first dera and searched for the minor victims,  we were unable to find either of them. While we were investigating  Parveliya, another dera,  we learned of a victim who was being sexually exploited in the dera.

Parveliya in Ratlam is a known hub for prostitution. Approximately 40–50 brothels operate in the area. The victim  was being exploited in one of the brothels. The brothel was a crude  room that had been partitioned into two separate rooms covered by a tin roof.

Once we had sufficient evidence, we met the Superintendent of Police, SP, Ratlam.  We gave him an overview on the work we do and requested him to initiate a raid  and rescue the victim.  We also shared our concerns about possible tip-offs. The SP assured us that everything would be handled confidentially.

The rescue was planned on the 21st January.  While we were preparing for the rescue, the Additional Superintendent of Police, ASP, Ratlam, said that the rescue operation had to be postponed as they had to deal with an emergency that had arisen.   He pushed the rescue operation to the next day.

On 22nd January with all teams in place we proceeded to the dera.

At 2:53 pm the police and our team raided the brothel.  The police arrested the brothel keeper, a 58 year old lady who was a close relative of the victim’s father.  The victim was 14 year old Aboli.

To confirm the child’s identity and age, the police contacted the school where Aboli had once been enrolled in. Once they received Aboli’s details, they started to file the First Information Report at the police station.  The police completed the FIR at 9:50 pm after which we accompanied Aboli for her medical test.

Once Aboli completed her medical test, we accompanied her to a protective home where she was placed for her safety.
