Four victims rescued in UP but police book them instead

On 17th March the police and our team rescued four victims who were being sexually exploited in a brothel in Naini, a township in Prayagraj, UP. Two victims were minors and two victims were majors. One woman, the brothel keeper, was arrested by the police.

After the rescue, the police arrested the brothel keeper and four victims including the two minors. The two majors were recorded as accused were sent to jail along with the brothel keeper. The two minors were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, JJB. After our legal team and advocate shared our arguments before the JJB, the JJB transferred the two minors to the Child Welfare Committee who ordered the minor victims to be placed in a One Stop Centre.
