Mehvish, a minor, had come to India illegally. She was trafficked by her boyfriend, who promised to marry her. She was rescued four years ago in Pune by an organization and was later sent to a shelter home in Hyderabad. During these four years, her repatriation process was initiated, but her application was denied.
Recently, her repatriation was approved our social worker, Shelly, assisted in the process and accompanied her to the Bangladesh–India border. She was safely handed over to our partner organization in Bangladesh.
We are glad to share that Mehvish has now been repatriated to her homeland and is safe.
